About me - a biophilic interior designer in Edinburgh
Hello! I am Rachel. I live in Edinburgh, Scotland.
I believe in the idea of therapy for our interiors. Seeing the spaces we enter and leave as living, breathing entities that need love and attention so that they can support us. This is where the Make Better Interiors came from. How can design make it better?
My diverse background encompasses illustration & design, holistic healthcare, librarianship, retail and customer service.
Driven by the desire to blend my creativity with practical problem-solving, I completed an MA with Distinction in Interior Architecture & Design in 2022.
Make Better Interiors combines my love for creating a story with in-depth research and a holistic health approach. My work is guided by nature-inspired, Biophilic Design principles that support our health, well-being and happiness. I design to nurture our physical and mental well-being in natural, non-toxic ways that are kind to you, your interior and the environment.
